Why Botox-Phobes Should Consider Microdermabrasion |

Some Skin) But there are so many great products and procedures these days that can stave off the need for botox or surgery. Case in point: Microdermabrasion. At a spa or clinic, this will run you $100 on up, depending on the location and if it's included in a package. That being said, it's a great investment in your skin. HOW IT WORKS: The rough scrubbing of your skin exfoliates away dead skin, producing new, fresh skin cells. It does away with blackheads, fine lines and increases plumpness. But like using Retinoids, the exfoliation exposes tender new skin so it's crucial to use sunscreen! For those of us on the slightly more broke side, there are at-home microdermabrasion kits that work WONDERS for under $25. My favorite right now is L'Oreal's (they have just come out for a neck and chest version as well!). Their facial microdermabrasion kit did miracles with my blackhead harboring skin, done 2-3 times a week, it made my skin smoother and less oily. It also scrubbed away any fine lines that may be forming and decreased the small acne scars on my temples. Neutragena, Mary Kay and other companies have also products on the market. The kit lasts about a month with use twice a week, and is definately
something I would do quarterly to maintain a healthy young glow! |
