Fragrance of Choice

My Queen by Alexander McQueen and Cynthia Rowley by Cynthia Rowley

By: Monica Camel

Today I want to explore a realm of beauty and fashion that I absolutely fell in love with when I was all of 12. Back in those heady days I was in love with the scents of Chanel, I was so innocent at my tender age. I would wear my Chanel No.5 any chance I could get. Luckily by the age of 14 my aunt Jenny introduced my to a new world of Scents in the more rarefied world of designer fragrances (not that I don’t still love Chanel No.5, it has a special place in my heart).

Lately I have been exposed to 2 scents that I love for differing occasions.

My Queen – fragrance developed by Yves Saint Laurent for designer Alexander McQueen

The comparisons to his fashion style are irresistibly sublime. I love his clothing for its strong sensuality and attention to the best of women’s curves, and his new fragrance is much the same. Lusty and full-figured is this scent(ual) creation with a melody of Almond, Violet, White Musk, Florals, Iris, Heliotrope, and Patchouli. Just as his fashion clings to hips, accentuates without gaudiness, and helps a woman to bloom in her full potential so does this wonderful eau de parfum. And to top it off this fragrance is priced below Chanel and Christian Dior offerings.

When to wear? When you’re in the mood!

Enjoy Ladies!

Cynthia Rowley –

I like Cynthia Rowley’s design for its runway-esque everydayness, something a girl can wear to dinner and to run errands. There is a certain sweetness to her dresses that evokes a sense of yesterday while not being stuck in the past, and her shoes can give a woman fantastic sex appeal. Luckily for us her new fragrance combines the best attributes of all her fashion design. Cynthia Rowley gives us a taste of her divine inspiration combining Verbena, Bergamot, and White Cyclamen with a Buoyant Floral and Sweet Honeysuckle base. And it is reasonably priced at $50-58 for a 1.7 oz helping.

When to wear? Anytime you want to evoke the feeling of a long summers evening.

Absolutely Elegant!

Until Next Time on Cynthia’s Runway – Kisses!
