The best way to care for hair so that it is shiny, smooth and healthy is to "leave it alone" as much as possible. This means choosing a hair style that is low-maintenance. While styling and coloring are fun and often important for your desired image, it's best to restrict yourself to the bare minimum necessary. Otherwise you run the risk of stripping your hair of it's vitality and nutrition.

Beautiful hair can be a no-brainer, with just a little bit of simple maintenance. To start, you need to select a flattering cut and hair style that both allows you to express your personal style and works with the shape of your face. If coloring your hair, you also need to take into account whether your chosen color/s match your skin tone. If you need help determining these things, there are several ways to go about finding them out. You can either refer to a professional in the field such as a hairstylist or makeup artist, or read up on these topics in books and articles.

 

It doesn't have to take you forever to style your hair. With proper hair care and just a little bit of practice, no matter what type of hair you have, you can learn to be a master at taming your tresses into shape.

Hair care isn't just about what you put on your hair, your diet can also affect how your hair looks and feels. For example, if your hair tends to be dry, upping your intake of vitamins B and E as well as foods rich in polyunsaturated oils can help. If your hair is dull, you can help turn it around by eating mineral rich foods such as leafy greens, whole grains and nuts.

Getting plenty of sleep can also be important to having healthy hair. Your hair actually grows faster when you are asleep, so make sure to get your beauty rest!

The bottom line is that good diet, plenty of rest and the minimum use of styling and coloring/bleaching products and tools, can give you the illustrious head of hair you desire. And hopefully your hair style benefits from an overall natural healthfulness.
